Abstract: α,β-Unsaturated alkynyl alcohols, such as dehydronerolidol, dehydrogeranyllinalool, and dehydroisophytol, were prepared by ethynylation of turpentine derivatives,namely terpenylacetones, e.g. geranylacetone, farnesylacetone, and phyton under normal pressure in presence of alkali metal hydroxide and organic solvents.
