Abstract: In this paper,the machining properties (including planning,sanding,boring,shaping,mortising,turning and crosscutting) of two plantation-grown hardwoods (Betula alnoides and Castanopsis hystrix),compared with commercially common used Quercus mongolia domestically,were investigated.
