Abstract: Through international comparison among 12 research-oriented universities in the world by SERUQuestionaire,it is found that the learning engagement characteristics of Chinese undergraduates are as follows:classroomdiscussion is conservative,teacher-student interaction is not sufficient,learning habit is excellent,time devotion to theinner-classroom learning is more and to the after-classroom learning is less,and the critical thinking and reasoningactivities are obviosly weak.
