Abstract: Lianhuashan-Baipenzhu Provincial Nature Reserve lies in the east of Guangdong Province. Brainea insignis is one of the major national protected plants. The community characteristics with the populations of Brainea insignis were studied by plot method. A total of 89 vascular plants belonging to 47 families and 71 genera were recorded in the plot area of 1200 m2. They are dominated by the tropical and subtropical distribution elements.
