Abstract: Farmland allocation and reuse for the relocated households is of great significance to achieve the goals of sustainable livelihood of the immigrants, and consolidate and expand the achievements in the poverty alleviation relocation program. Based on the field survey data of relocated households of poverty reduction in Shaanxi province, considering the land uses of self-planting, transfer, withdraw and abandonment into one framework, an empirical analysis on the factors influencing the willingness of farmland disposal of relocated households were conducted by using the Mlogit model. The results show that the willingness of farmland disposal of relocated households is diversified. The willingness of farmland transfer and withdraw is much larger than the actual farmland disposal behavior. There is an obvious livelihood diversification for relocated households. The increase in non-agricultural activities of the relocated families will significantly increase their willingness to withdraw or abandon their farmland. More than half of the respondents are worried about their land rights. Compared with those farmers who wish to manage their own farmland, the awareness of land rights protection will significantly increase the farmers’ willingness to withdraw or abandon their farmland. Therefore, it is recommended to further improve the agricultural land transfer market in the relocation area, improve the promotion of farmland policy, implement differentiated policies for different families, and help the immigrants to participate in the transfer and withdrawal of their farmland.
