Construction and Measurement of Green Finance Development Index System of Commercial BanksChinese Full Text

Abstract: This paper is first based on the related policies of green credit to construct an evaluation index system for green finance development of commercial banks, then systematically evaluates and measures the development level of green finance of commercial banks by using the data of China’s commercial banks from 2008 to 2019, and finally empirically analyzes the influencing factors of green finance development of commercial banks. The results are shown as follows: The green finance development of China’s commercial banks is still at a low level at present, and the green finance development degree of different commercial banks is obviously different. State-owned commercial banks bear more environmental responsibility, followed by joint-stock commercial banks; urban（rural） commercial banks bear less responsibility. In addition, there is no statistical interaction between the development level of green finance and profitability of commercial banks. In the future, the inherent enthusiasm of green finance development of commercial banks should be improved; the scale of green credit should be expanded, and the green finance development of commercial banks should be deepened to promote the green and low-carbon transformation.
