Abstract: The propagation of waves through permeable structures is a non-linear process of wave-wave interactions, which is difficult to accurately simulate with mathematical models. In view of this problem, four types of submerged breakwaters, rectangular, trapezoid, triangle and semicircle, are selected to study the wave resistance performance of these four types of submerged breakwaters by wave section physical model test. The commonly used influencing factors are selected, and the variation law of the transmission coefficient under the action of the waves with these influencing factors is analyzed. The experimental results are verified by empirical formulas. The results show that the wave resistance performance of submerged breakwaters is greatly affected by factors such as incident wave factors, the water depth above the submerged breakwaters and the size of the submerged breakwaters.
