Abstract: The invention of chirped pulse amplification is an important milestone in the development of ultrashort lasers with ultrahigh peak power,which has greatly promoted the progress of the ultra-intense ultrashort lasers and high field laser physics as well as other fields.The technique was rewarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2018.This paper briefly introduce the technical principle of the chirped pulse amplification.
