Abstract: [Purposes]The paper makes a discussion on the rule that Standard Number is substituted for Other Title Information in GB / T 7714 ― 2015. [Methods] The irrationality of the new rule is demonstrated logically. Compared w ith domestic and foreign standards,the potential adverse effects have been analyzed in this paper. [Findings]There is a mismatch betw een the new rule and international standards and traditions,probably leading to the misunderstanding and high implementation costs. [Conclusions]Suggestions are given that Standard Number is w ritten as Title Name and the previous format is reverted,that is,Standard Number Standard Name.
